The City of Bishop is currently updating the Circulation Element of the General Plan. The update recognizes that communities evolve over time and changes occur in the environment we live in. General Plan Circulation Elements or “Mobility Elements” as they are now commonly called, have to keep up with such changes and address the needs of the community in this changing environment. The current General Plan dates back to 1994, and hence needs to be updated to address the future from a 2011 perspective.

The New Mobility Element contains goals and policies pertaining to all modes of transportation. Long-range plans for streets and bikeways have been updated, and strategies for enhanced transit and pedestrian accessibility have been addressed.
